Our team

Matt Cohen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Tight Consulting Group.

  

Results-driven CPG brand builder and management consultant with a proven track record in strategy, business expansion, organizational efficiency, and turnaround. Expert at developing and executing U.S. go-to-market (GTM) strategies to scale businesses and optimizing operations to drive growth and profitability. Adept at addressing key business challenges and their root causes, while delivering actionable and high-impact solutions that drive sustainable success. Matt's Background


Born and raised in France, Matt graduated with an MBA from the top European business school EDHEC, and went to London at the age of 23 as Financial Controller for seven stores of the French fashion brand, Rodier. He then joined Accenture in 1992, first in France then in the US where he moved in 1995. In 2000, after eight years at Accenture, Matt joined EZSize.com as VP of Operations, an internet startup that used in-store and 3-D scan technology to provide consumers with size and fit recommendations on clothing bought online. In 2001, when the internet bubble burst, he returned to consulting, this time as Chief Operating Officer of Stromberg Consulting. Under Matt’s tenure, Stromberg was turned around, sold to Omnicom Group and ultimately integrated into the organization.


In 2007, Matt left the corporate world to strike out on his own. Passionate about how companies connect with consumers and upset by the limited healthy food options available to children when he became parent, Matt founded and led Kidfresh, the #1 brand of better-for-you frozen kids meals in the US, distributed in over 10,000 stores, enjoying the highest consumer loyalty and growing at double digit rates. Kidfresh has now become a lifestyle brand in the US that parents feel good about, a staple in today’s American homes.


As Founder and CEO, Matt has gained hands-on experience in all aspects of a running business: from brand strategy and identity to product development, from building a team to raising institutional capital, from sales at US leading retailers to finance, operations and supply chain – A rare range of experience. From the board room to the trenches, from management consulting to hands-on operations, Matt has a broad range expertise anchored in reality and excellence. After years of building a business from scratch, Matt now uses his experience and insights with other companies to help them drive profitable growth.

Matt has also been invited as guest speaker on many business panels and podcasts.

Matt in the Classroom

Matt is an adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon, teaching general principles of Management. He has been frequently featured as a lecturer in classes dealing with start ups, entrepreneurship, food industry, capital raising, branding and marketing. Most recently, Matt has been coaching students at top NYC universities including NYU, Pace, Parsons, Columbia, CUNY and The New School .
